Hi there,
I have set up a simple Shoutcast server etc and can transmit and receive live media. I can open Windows Media PLayer and enter the relevent URL, this all works fine. However, I now wish to enable the user to click on a link on my website and this will then open Windows Media PLayer (if they have it) and load the URL.
I have tried to do this by saving the playlist for the URL which is a .wpl file and run this from a link, this does not work. I have also tried to use a .asx file as the link on the page, this just loads the same page, but blank.
Does anyone know a way around this? A way in which someone can just click on a link and have the media player load up the relevent URL (not an mp3) as this is live broadcasting and so needs a playlist I would think.
Any help would be great, as I am at a loss for ideas.
