float and spacing

If you view the attached page, you'll notice that in NS7 and Opera7 the two lines touch, but in IE6 there is a gap that simply will not go away. Wondering if anyone knew why IE does this and how to make it stop.

Have you looked at this already (link below)? IE puts a mysterious 3px space for any text rendered alongside a float. AFAIK, there is no workaround for this.
