your screen resolution and display seems to be working well. I find the text abit hard to read. a bit boring though, hope to see more images. you should probably have some copyright and user privacy thingy...

I just tested it on FF for mac and IE for mac, it works fine.
I agree with bpeh, your site lacks images. Or, if not images, you could vary the colors, because like that, you have the impression that your screen is suddenly gone weird.. lol.
Decrease the amount of blue. Try adding a complementary color, or so. Besides, I think your banner is a little bit blurred (only a little bit). Try saving it in a jpg instead of a gif.
I like your logo, it rules !
Your footer is not very pretty, and quite far from the general layout with this black line. I would suggest you get rid of the black.
And, yeah, already said, but... too much blue !!!! Maybe I'm the only one in that case, but whenever I see a blue website, I'm like... OMG, not another blue website... lol.
Blue is not a very attractive color. Try making it a tad bit more lively, maybe by adding a little red (I mean, if you work with photoshop, you can try changing the RVB settings and just five the image some red... No, I don't mean to make it look purple... Just a bit brighter).

1. Use a DOCTYPE
2. Validate (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.birdinthecity.com%2F) your code.
3. Use CSS and divs instead of tables.
4. Really nice layout, I like the top half of the site a ton. the bottom half could use a little work, but you'll get it.
