Hi everyone,

I will be using Ger's Menu (http://www.burmees.nl/menu/) in the next version of my website.

What I want to do is open a page in a specific frame "mplayer". The purpose is to allow people to load music from the menu without leaving the content page they are currently viewing.

I have a working example (minus the frame specific link) available to look at . . . .

http://www.jabcreations.com/1menu

The code is located at . . .
http://www.jabcreations.com/1menu/jab-script-menu-home-welcome.js

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've been trying to learn javascript myself but all the tutorials make very little sense (As there is lots of ways to go about it I suppose). It makes more and more sense every day and I elarn small things every day.

You disabled script on your computer and your punishment is lack of navigation, bwahahaha!
Some people cannot use JavaScript because of the nature of their disabilities. Do you really mean to be so insulting to them?

obvisouly that wouldn't show up in the final version, and it wasn't geared towards disabled people.

Hi LUTIEANA...

First of all... STOP SCREAMING (caps-off is proper etiquette ;) )

Second of all... how (or why) did you piggy-back post on this thread?

Lastly...

Links between frames are done by targeting.

If you have 2 frames (one "left" and one "right"), and the menu/link is on the left frame, and you want the linked page to appear in the right frame...
then your menu/links would be in the left frame and contain something like this:

<a href="yourPage.htm" target="right">View my page in the right frame</a>

Then... when the user clicks the link... the "yourPage.htm" page loads on the right frame.

But... in order for this to work, your frameset pages have to be named that way as well. Such as:

<frameset cols="200, *">
<frame src="yourMenuLinks.htm" name="left">
<frame src="whereThe PageLoads.htm" name="right">
</frameset>

Hopefully you understand (if not... post your additional questions here)

And just so you know....
This is the Javascript forum.
You really should have posted this in the HTML form as a new question.

Plus... answers to posted questions are rarely answered outside of the forum. All questions and answers are done here in the forum so that everyone can help and or learn together.

Well... as a Marine Corps brat myself... hopefully that helped you out ;) .

Good luck :)
;) k
