Hi louise,

ok, so what i am gonna say might sound harsh.
However i'm gonna try to be as useful as possible.
So, first you site doesn't look professional at all, it is way too plain and has nothing to do with the actual products. The design is incoherent ("Sale" page has a different design)

People might want to know what they can buy at your site without having to read 3 paragraphs and browse to your shop.
And even if you click on the 'Go to shop' link, you find yourself looking at payments method (while you still don't know what you can buy).
If the client hasn't left yet, there is a great chance he won't find the link to the shop.
The small percentage of people who will make it to the shop still won't know what you are selling when they're on the shop's main page.

The solution -> give me 1 million $, i'll fix it..hehe just kidding

The real solution -> keep a coherent design (it will be easier for you too) and it won't give the user the impression that he's landed on another site.
Use graphics/photos of you products on the same page, give hints about what you are selling!
There are really few people who are actually willing to read more than 3 lines of text when buying a product! Ever wondered why catalogs are almost exclusively picture based?

Then you should have the shop directly accessible through the mainpage.

Make use of the whole width of the page, rather than have the customer scroll down.

Now about the code:
The markup is horrible, you really should make efforts and get it validated (http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.getpersonal.org/index.html)
Having the page properly coded will greatly simplify the designing part.
Don't use tables for layout!

ok, good luck!
Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

kind regards,
LCF

I would recommend a new header graphic up top...the getpersonal.org graphic needs to be more eye-catching.

One thing that I think your site has going for it is the color scheme - the beige, white, and purple work well together.

However once you go to http://sales.getpersonal.org/index.html, the colors change! Try to keep a uniform color scheme throughout.

There is alot of white space on the right hand side.

Place some pictures of products, with prices, and maybe a little descriptions, on the home page.

I am not really feeling the colors

There is know way back home from the products page(s)

In case you didn't know, although .org's are unrestricted, they were intended to serve the noncommercial community. :p

You're sort of on the right track in terms of design. As mentioned above, your design should be consistent throughout all pages.

I would suggest changing the background as well because you have too much white on your page.
