I've done a mockup design for a local band, if you could give me a bit of feedback before I show it to them that would be great.

The address is http://www.silentearth.co.uk/
Thanks

red is such a strong colour you dont want to use such a strong colour for things which are ment to stay unnoticed like your background go for a dark maroon instead.

Thanks for the comments, I may darken down the red a bit.

KDLA, its hosted on my broadband in the uk, so it wont be fast loading - try again now. I'll post here again once the sites been finished and the domain name has been sorted out.

Thanks again

I don't think the red is that overpowering, since the site is already high contrast.

Try using an off white for the text, and maybe use 11px font... I think it will allow you to play with the content more and incorporate more pictures if nessasary

Thanks for the comments,

The text isnt finalised yet - will be smaller and probably and as suggested an off white.

its now available at www2.silentearth.co.uk (http://www2.silentearth.co.uk/) for anyone who couldnt get to the other address - although that might be down as the domain transfers between registrars.

The site is now live at http://www.silentearth.co.uk

There is not a lot of content but that will be added to over the next few weeks.

I've got to love the clean code, and the design is pretty clean as well. Kudos on both accounts although It'd be nice if you could have some texts in the links, for those using screenreaders and such like.

Thanks for the kind comments - I try to keep the code as clean as possible, could you explain the 'text in links' ? I'm not familiar with it.

<ul id="nav">

<li id="home_btn"><a href="./"></a></li>
<li id="downloads_btn"><a href="downloads.php"></a></li>
<li id="contact_btn"><a href="contact.php"></a></li>
</ul>This wont give anything to screen readers, I'd fill them with some text, in spans and then set the spans to display:none; so that they don't disrupt your design.
