Quicktime Preloading Problem

I have a group of quicktime videos and images in hidden layers on a page. When a button is clicked the corresponding video/image will open. The problem is all the videos and images are preloading when the page opens. Is there a way to have the media just sit there and then start to load once it is selected. I'm working in dreamweaver.

so I put the area or button which some code to open a popup and use the quicktime embedded player to play the music when the area is pressed.
