Hi,
not sure where to post this!

I've heard that Internet Explorer can be used as an FTP program. I tried it out by logging in to my own webspace, and saw the file list as expected. But I can't seem to do anything with it! There are no option buttons, and IE's help menu doesn't even mention FTP!

Has anyone had any experience of it? How do you upload files? Delete them? Rename them? Or can you only use it for viewing and downloading site content?! I'm a little confused!

You posted it in the right place. Yeah, I've used it. Just find out what the ftp url is for your site, and paste it into the address bar of IE. It'll prompt for password/username, and then once you're logged in you basically upload files just as you would transfer from one folder to another in windows, you drag and drop

I got that far, but dragging a JPG in just displayed it, not uploaded it... Maybe cos I was doing it on the mac?

Oooooooh, well I have no clue about that. I'm not even sure IE for Mac can FTP. I've used a mac like 2 or 3x in my life.

Must be a mac thing! Just tried it on a PC and it's as you described. Weird, seeing as it let me happily log on with a mac! I just couldn't do much when I'd logged on apart from stare at it... :)

Hmm. But how do you log out? Or do you just ignore etiquette and quit the window?!!

Quit the window.
