What is XML and RSS for?

How can I benefit from using this 2 languages? www.GaMMez.com by www.eMadeIT.com needs a database of game codes, strategy, etc. will xml and rss do this easily.

I'm so confused, I'm just a designer not a programmer.

You can certainly benefit from XML by storing your game codes, strategies, etc. in XML documents.
