I shall soon install the SuSe Linus System however upon reading it appears I will have to decide what desktop I want.

Here is the issue..KDE sounds like it is similar to the Windows desktop..very nice but the GNOME seems good too..while it gives the impression that it is better suited to Macintosh users..I also find the GNOME very appealing too.

The problem is that I have used Windows all my life...well..for as long as I had a computer which is ten years.

So..what desktop do you use? What one would you recommend? And why?

Thank You.

The question for the ages. It pretty much boils down to personal preference. Most people try one, then the other and then decide.

There is absolutely no harm in using a different desktop eniviroment everyday for a week or so until you make up your mind.

Yeah, I never really made up my mind: I like the "feel" of the Gnome interface a little more, but I tend to prefer some of the functionality of KDE a bit better. So I've gone with Gnome, but it's a real close thing for me.

That was...helpful. :p

Ok...so I take it both environments are good....both easy to use pretty much?

Ok..thank You..I appreciate the answers.

Ok..I read it...thank you..it was a good article. If I get SUSE to work..I will choose KDE so I have an easier time navigating the system.

I am such a newcommer to Linux so I need something that is easy for noodninks like myself to get accustomed to.

Once again thanks for the help.
