Hi,

I don't know if this is the place to ask, but I'm wondering about something.

At work, my old PC used to freeze and then distort the screen a few times every day. I installed new drivers but that didn't help at all.
Now, I have a new PC and what do I get... that's right, it happened again!
Now, one of my coworkers has the same problem.

Could this be network-related or maybe a virus or something?
Has something like this ever happened to someone here and if so, how did you fix it?

Thanks for your help,

Ava

What happens when it distorts? Does the moniter kind of flicker? What happens when it freezes, does the mouse freeze too? Do you get a BSOD ever? Could be anything, might be video card but could just as easily be hard drive failior, chipset failior, ram failior, or processor failior.

If 1 co-worker has the propbelm i could be a virus or other desise though i wouldn't rule hardware faluare out. U use Anti-vius?

When the problem occurs, the screen completely freezes (including mouse and everything) for about ten seconds before screen resolution is set back to 256colors and distorts the view.

We (of course) use antivirus and the problem has now occured on three computers: a P4-3Ghz, a P4-2.8Ghz and a P3-1Ghz (the old one).

It says that the video card driver is giving problems but reinstalling the driver solves nothing.

Any more thoughts?

Some out-dated piece of software you're all using that tries to run in some Win95-era full-screen mode?
