List of all colleges/universities

I am trying to add onto my form a drop-down menu for a list of all the schools and universities in the US. I need a drop-down because later I want the users to be searchable by their school and don't want any discrepencies in the search because of a mispelling. I was wondering if there was code somewhere or a table somewhere I could import this. All these websites I run across have something similar to this. But I have yet to find the actual code for this. Hard coding this is out of the question for the sake of my own sainity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any idea how many thousands of schools are in the US? That is not something you should be putting into a select even if you could get the data.
