Yes that is a good read. I was very disappointed when the betas were shifting away from winFx and winFs. I think it really has a lot to do with some areas within microsoft falling behind and not completeing their tasks as expected, such as the sql server team.

Indeed, WinFS seems to be a really interesting filesystem. I've searched over to get more info on it and came upon this source http://www.ntfs.com/ If you wish you might also give it a look, there is much useful info on the subject at the moment.
