IE not responding

hello guys,

I'm always having this stupid IE problem,
I open it and it does not connect to the internet...
Usually I use Opera and Firefox but IE is required for Windows Update (is it?)
And now I need updates to enable USB2.0 which should be a standard supported in WinXP SP2... It's kinda a chain reaction of misery :mad:
Anyone knows where I can get this fixed?
I'm pretty sure my settings are allright :confused:
Previously (2 years ago) I messed with my registry to get it reinstalled (IE)
but the damn thing failed and since half of Windows relies on IE I had no choice but to reinstall WinXP.
I hoped I would never have the same ****ing problem again but it seems like M$ trouble is of all times...
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Is your internet connection working properly? Can you get on the web in Opera or is it just IE, cuz if it's just IE I wouldn't worry, IE sucks anyhow.
