Hello i wasn't sure which forum to put this in so i popped it in here!
I have a website http://www.funkrockers.biz/index2.html which has an integrated player running in a frame throughout the site.
Now the player has stopped streaming my mp3s in internet explorer although it does in firefox? i really don't understand why it has suddenly stopped.
I have also updated the skin of the player, once again the updated skin is showing in firefox but not internet explorer.
can anyone help? it would be much appreciated.
many thanks
Francis

Hi!
I saw your site, and it looks like you solved your IE problem. How did you manage to do that?
I've been trying to use Wimpy Player, and also have been trying to store the mp3 files outside of the document root of my webserver. It works fine in firefox, and opera, but it won't play in IE. I'm hoping maybe you can provide some insight.
Thanks!

A couple things I've found with wimpy is that if you use Frontpage to upload, it changes the html before uploading.
Also this is not happening with ALL IE. It is just certain people it happens with. I have it on my site. and out of 10 people who have internet exployer there's only 2 people that it won't play for them.
So I think it's a setting on the computer, or your browser that is causing it.
I haven't figured out what that is yet tho.

Actually its all of the above. Since the last wimpy upgrade with the new flash 8 intergration it also now requires that your running the latest versions of explorer. That and the fact that some people's security settings also block them from seeing it in IE. If they have their settings too high it will not allow it to process for their browser. If their regular visitors just have them lower the security settings for your site, or even post a little note stating that as well.
There are other ways around it, play around with your website server settings that controls your popups and etc... sometimes wimpyplayer will look like a popup to your server and list it in popups control tags, wich in turn causes certain browsers to block viewing it thinking its a popup ad or other trash.
Have a good one and good luck
