HTML Sidebars

I have a chatbox or tagboard that I want to put on my enter page-however, I want it on the left side like a side bar---what's the code to put the tagboard off to the side (creating a sidebar)?

I can install the chatbox fine--but I'd like it off to the left. Thanks
