I make them for fun. I just was asked to make a website for a friend but have some questions I wanted to ask before I decide to take the job.
The website, generally speaking, is a list of equipment (the kind does not matter, but it would list the equipment, the company that makes it, the year it was released, etc..). The site would need to have drop down menus, or combo boxes, and after the user makes some choices, the resulting list of equipment would need to be sorted according to those parameters - kind of like on Ebay, where you do a search and the results display, but then you could say you want to sort it by newly listed, lowest price first, time ending soonest,etc...and then the results would sort themselves out. Like that.
Can this be done in Dreaweaver, or would it require some other programming language?

I have no experience whatsoever in web development. I read a lot of advice online but it seems everyone has their own opinion of what program I should start with. I want to find out where do I start? Here are some questions I have:

1. There is HTML5, RUBY on RAILS, JAVA, PHP, etc etc. What would the best program to begin with and build my skill level. I am very interested, so I foresee picking up a program faster than the average person.

2. In order to build a high graphic sensational site such as for a photographer, what tools would i need? I am aware you can build a site only with HTML on a notepad. I mean to build a fully functional site with shopping cart, intergrated with Social Networking tools, CMS function, etc etc. What programs should I be looking at learning?

3. If I am an above average learner, with an average IT literacy as a layman, how long would it take me to learn programs in No.2 ?

It was a redirection purely based on the key word. So this is not a permanent redirect of the primary domain. It is condition based redirect which is based on the key word used in each situation. You can try another key word 'Sobha Marvella'..

I want a nice, simple CMS that my clients can easily understand to modify their site's content on one or a few pages. I would like them to be able to log in, add images, video, text (and edit the text), and so on. All I want to have to do is upload the CMS to my server and put a one line reference to the content inside the actual page. Every CMS program I've tried (even the ones that boasts they're lightweight and simple) are too complex. I developed one on my own a couple years ago, but I worry about security, since all I have is a simple .htaccess script protecting it. Plus, since I used things like TinyMCE, it's a bit cumbersome.

Can anyone recommended a CMS like this? I have searched long and far for years and would really like one.

Wordpress is the only one I've found that comes close, but it requires a lot of hacking and it's still complex to use casually.
