effect of using underscore

Which is better for SEO if files' names were written as separate words (my file), as a gathered word (myFile), or underscored (my_file)?

Shall I understand that none of the four cases (including dashes) affect the searching optimization, but you just like hyphens?

myFile will affect SEO since the words aren't separated. I've always read you should use dashes, but I cannot confirm how it compares to underscores for SEO. I *think* dashes or underscores are the best for SEO, but most people use dashes. Again, I don't have any evidence. I'm just going off from what I've read and seen.
