Very loaded question! It really depends what use you have for the iPad/iPad mini. I have an iPad 2gen and love it, except for its inability to use Flash sites (Use Puffin browser in those cases). I use it when I am on the road for accessing my servers and providing tech support and also as an ereader. Love it, but that's me!
For me, I like Samsung Tab, ipad mini is not bad.:o
