How do I extract data from a password protected site?

I am looking for a way to take data from multiple websites, all of which have a username and password to login. I would like to be able to set up a page that pulls data from the various sites and displays it on my site... An example would be Mint.com - it asks for login information from each financial institution when you initially set it up, then every time you login to Mint it updates that info and displays it in a nice way for you.

Not exactly sure where to start with this. Anyone have any ideas they can throw my way?
