simple htaccess rewrite rule redirect loop
i am a newbie on mod_rewrite and redirect rules, i have just learnt the basics and have done my first simple rewrite rule, please see below:
I am now getting a redirect loop when trying to access the the about.html and about-us/
RewriteRule ^about-us/$ http://localhost:8888/Envirosolar/about.html
RewriteRule ^(about-us)$ http://localhost:8888/Envirosolar/$1/ [R=301]
RewriteRule ^about.html$ http://localhost:8888/Envirosolar/about-us/ [R=301]
I can see what is happening and what is causing the redirect loop to happen but i was just wondering if there is a way around this without putting all the old .html files in a subdirectory?
This is a current live site so redirecting the old URLs, to the new ones is essential.
Many thanks in advance
