I just switched to a new host. I changed to this host because my site was consistently slow on my old host. Things are about 80% better with my new host, but I still have problems with my site being...
My host keeps claiming that some of my php files are causing server problems. Specifically, they say they are causing high server load and maybe even crashing the server. They have even gone...
At the suggestion of Google Page Speed I recently enabled broswer chaching for my site using the following general htaccess rule:
# Turn on Expires and set default to 0
:o I did misunderstand that post! However, the "$this->" solved my problems. Thanks so much for all who answered!
Thanks for the replies. I don't think I was clear in what I was asking. Basically, is this possible:
$output_one = $arg1+15;
I'm sure its possible to call functions from other functions, but it is not working for me. Is there some syntax someone can provide to me as an example of calling a function within another function?...
This is the first website I've ever made. I do a totally different type of programming for my real job, but we decided to make a go at having our website in hopes that it will grow.
Edit: didn't mean to make this post!
My site is currently on a shared server with my current host. I switched to this host back in September, and I really think that there is something on my end that is slowing down my site. I...

I tried something like this:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to center the body of a website horizontally and automatically so it stays centered even with a browser resize?

Well, I'm clearly showing my ignorance on this issue...
Is there a proper doctype to use then? I am using the .htaccess method to emulate IE7. However, I'd really prefer for my site to work in...
I believe IE8 requires a different doctype, and that previous doctypes are now legacy in IE8. I suspect I am having problems with my site due to a legacy doctype. But I am uncertain what that doctype...
I'm thinking I might not be using the right doctype. How do I know if I am?
They worked in IE8, but I kept the wmode out. However, I'm not happy with IE8 so far. I think it sucks like a kid using a straw.

When IE7 came out, I personally made the switch from IE to FF. The reason is that I like to play online flash games. In IE7, they made the decision to make the up and down arrows scroll the window up...
I've read that blogs are good for a site's SEO. The only thing I wonder is: should the blog be on my site, off my site or should I have two blogs (one on site and one off site)?
As a follow up to this I made a test page to demonstrate this behavior in FF and IE6/7. I have stripped out a lot of the code and left only the ad, some text and a link in. You can still notice how...
Hi WebJoel -
I don't want to post the URL here, so I sent you a PM. If anyone else wants to see or try to help me solve this problem let me know and I will PM you the link.
I am having a very frustrating issue that seems to have crept up over the last month or so. This problem did not exist on my site before, but it certainly exists now.
Whenever I resize IE6 or...
