Try digging around for sites that are talking about HTML 5 and CSS 3.

If you find sites focused on that, then there's a good chance you'll find the new bells and whistles you're looking for.

I don't mind the subtle ones. The blinky ones that induce seizures, however, I could live without. (Sorry, Seawtich!)

I also think that there's a time & a place for animated gifs. If you find...
