Can you make a link search for more than one location.

I want to be able to run my website off my hard drive and then when i burn it to a cd run it off the cd. Part of the website will have to remain on the hard drive.
So say I hit link and its located at "comics\" and then if it couldn't find it there it would look at "d:\" and if not there...
Is this possible.

HTML and even javascript for that matter does not posses the ability to run a check like that.
