    Thumbs down margin correct in IE! not in FF

    Hello,

    look here:
    http://alauda.be/tmp/index20.htm

    The horizontal navigation (about dabs | contact us | delivery changes | careers@dabs | terms & conditions | disclaimer) is ok in IE, however not in FF.
    Purpose is to have the text vertical in the middle of the 'foot' div.
    (don't mind the css errors inside the code, it's only for testing)

    thanks for help!

    Cheers

    Your big chunk of HTML under "Level-1 CSS" is showing through. I assume you meant to comment it out. I don't know how/if it is affecting this. If that's not the problem then eventually we will find this is a problem with IE not FF.

    hmm? No, all css inside is supposed to be there. You have to check over here:
    /* FOOT --------------------------------------*/

    In IE it is ok, but in FF and Opera there appears a violet blue space

    #foot ul {
    list-style: none;
    margin: 6px 0 0px 0; <-- telling it to leave a 6 pixel gap above the entry

    It is doing what it is told in Firefox and Opera but IE appears to be ignoring the request for a 6 pixel top margin.

    What are all of the bbackground references for - there is no such attribute.

    Ok, yes, but how can I position the ul a little bit down so it looks vertically centered in the foot div?

    fix this:

    Code:
    #header {
    	display: block;
    	width: 100%px;
    	height: 120px;
    	margin: 0px auto 0px auto;
    	padding: 0;
    	background-color: #0099CC;
    	background-image: url('images/bghead.gif');
    There is no such thing as 100%px

    Code:
    /* foot styles */
    #foot{
        background:#C03 url('index20_files/dotted.JPG') repeat-x;
    }
    #foot ul {
        list-style: none;
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;
    }
    #foot li {
        display: inline;
        padding: 0 8px 0 0;
        font-weight: bold;
    }
    #foot a {
        line-height: 30px;
        height: 30px;
        text-decoration: none;
        color:#000;
    }
    #foot a:hover {
        text-decoration: underline;
    }

    Hey Fang, thank you!
    So the trick is in the "line-height" ? Cool.
    Thanks again.
