I need help on posting and making a web site!

I am new at building web sites but I am useing byte host to set up a free web site. When I go to my web site in a browser all it has is a list of the files I have uploaded. How do I make it so it goes straight to my home page. Do I have to name the home page something special. PLEASE HELP

Try naming your homepage index.html. If that doesn't work, try index.htm...and finally default.htm or html. One of those generally works.

Ask your host what the default web page [your home page] should be named...
depends on what server type they're using.
