Web Application Analysis
I have got a new job at a company meant by web development. My manager asks me to make an analysis for a supposed project ( website ). I searched the web for "Website analysis" to find any tutorials about how making such analysis or plan for a website, but what I found was services offers statistics plugins for the website.
I want any resource that teach me or tell me about the analysis as a plan for the website before start development. Any one can help please?
That's a pretty open-ended request. If my manager were to ask me that, I would reply with a number of questions to narrow down precisely what he/she is actually looking for. Does he/she want an informal technical analysis of ways to accomplish the customer's requirements; or a formal software design document with risk analyses, schedule estimates and manpower requirement, return on investment anaysis, etc.?

How to Ask Questions the Smart Way
(not affiliated with this site, but well worth reading)
My manager needs the first option,Does he/she want an informal technical analysis of ways to accomplish the customer's requirements. Is this analysis supposed to be a description of the supposed website? However, I need to know how can I make this analysis. I have a book talks about The application development process briefly, as an introduction to CGI using Perl. As its being a brief text, I need more examples and understanding for the following items:
- Define need for a solution.
- Analyze the requirements.
- Create an implementation plan.
- Perform top level design.
- perform in-depth design.
- Create the application.
- Test the system.
- Deploy the system.
- Maintain the system.
I need any online free resources about that, specially for web development.
