6 asp questions

1. what is the main difference between asp and asp.net?

2. if i want to learn asp and do not have a clue about programing above html/css should i start with asp or go straight to .net?

3. i have seen and tried out a few tutorials on asp. if i start learning .net will all those tutorials have been a waste of time or is it basicly the same codes?

4. is it easier to first learn asp and then go on to .net when you know asp?

5. do i have to learn VB and C# as well?

6. any goo book suggestions for absolute beginners with lots of examples and projects?

1. what is the main difference between asp and asp.net?
Ans - Both of them are completely different, build on completely different technology and concept.

Ans - You can directly start with .net. But i personaly recommend that you should know asp also its help in clarifying many Internet basic concepts.

Ans - Frankly speaking yes they will be waste of time. But knowledge always pays. If you want to learn .net better start with .net because ASP wil soon be out dated.

4. is it easier to first learn asp and then go on to .net when you know asp?
Ans - For me yes because i had exp working in asp. May you would find .net much easier because you will learn directly .net and will not have any confusion as why thing are happening this way.
5. do i have to learn VB and C# as well?
u can choose between them.

6. any goo book suggestions for absolute beginners with lots of examples and projects?
for asp i used ASP Unleashed for .net use Wrox ASP.Net for .beginners and Wrox C# for beginners. Why c# because as with ASP you need vbscript for server side. For asp.net you will need C# or may be VB.Net. what ever u find better.
