Yeah, but the stats also show a shift towards 1024 x 768. However, it is still good practice to create pages that can be viewed on (nearly) all screen resolutions.
All websites are designed in 800x600 if you are talking pro. As thats the highest software like homesite from Macromedia alow. I can spend weeks working on a site in 800x600 then back to 1024x768 for all other graphic work.

oddly enough I don't find notepad has that limitation.

they mention 800x 600 in a lot of their guides as if you design in 1024x 768 or higher and some people view the site they will have to scroll left and right also.
Which is a lot as here in Australia the public online access centres are all set at 800x600.
More examples play a game most switch you down to 800x600 or 640x480

I don't see that in the link... Anyway, in Homesite, you more or less hard code the pages, so you can design it for whatever res you want to... Same with DW (as far as designing for whichever resolution you choose)... That being said, I would highly recommend designing for at least 800x600+
And have found most of my older clients like 800x600 even though they have new machines that can do way higher resolution. As they all seem to find it easier to read. And in the town where I live thats about 80% of all of them that I know use 800x600 the younger people all justgo the highest resolution they can.
I think we're debating different things. I had the impression you were saying that you Homesite doesn't support making sites larger than 800x600, not whether you should make sites that require a higher resolution...
In Homesite 4 in design view you could only go to 800x600 version 5 doesn't have the design view though it intergrates with Dreamweaver..
Yeah I think we were debatting different things though*LOL*
But in Australia I have worked in Sydney,Melbourne, Cairns and now Tasmania and most of the older people that I knew all preferred 800x600 so they could read better so I think the stats would be pretty high as there have been a lot of them .
You could always use css and let your pages be viewable at any resolution...
