phpbb problem

Everytime a logged in member posts a message it logs them out again afterwards.
I dont seem to have a problem it keeps me logged in all the time, i was wondering what the default session time should be set to as i set it to zero thinking that would disable the session expiry time so users were logged in all the time?

Any help will be appreciated
