I use a 960 gridder layer. You can pick it up at http://960.gs (it's the very top left "download") That will have all the files you need.

Basically you lay it over your PSD (it's just a folder with layers), and it will show you where the gutters are and the columns are. If you've never used a grid system it's very confusing at first, but I feel like it paid off in the long run.

Alternatively, you can slice your entire template. Which is something I used to do... It makes everything an image which kind of sucks. But photoshop will save it as an html table, which makes it a lot easier than using 960gs. I wouldn't consider this method very good at all, but give it a try because it might be useful for some things. It's something like file > save for web > slices or something XD

Cool. I had never thought about it like this. Funny, in that http://www.jadii.com project that I working on, someone sent me a file that had all hidden group layer with all these red vertical lines. At the time I was like, was that part of the background design Now I know why. cool

    Hey Mika,

A great place you can get your conversions done is http://www.psdcenter.com.

If you are trying to learn it yourself I would suggest learning HTML & CSS at http://www.w3schools.com/

Thank you for the information. Now I know what I'm going to do.

To do this, create a new document in Photoshop and drag every icon into it. The next step of PSD to HTML conversion is writing the CSS code for the menu.

PLEASE do not resurrect old posts, this one is from 2006.

... and please remember to wrap code with forum BBCode tags:-

    [CODE]...[/CODE] [HTML]...[/HTML] [PHP]...[/PHP]

If you can't think outside the box, you will be trapped forever with no escape...
