gimp corner

Hi,

I am wanting to create colored corners with gimp (as opposed to just cutting up an image as last thread).I am new to gimp and I can do this with http://gug.sunsite.dk/tutorials/rounded-corners/.
I do a gaus blur then add a color levels 119 1.0 135 ' I cant adjust this for colored shapes and make it look smooth'

The problem is when i create a rounder corner I am using black shape and white background. To add color I just add a color fill to desired foreground/background.

The image then has corners with added pixels to make it look a little rough or dirty looking.
How do I make rounded corners with color?

Have you thought of just using a circle graphic?
