testing for swf.'complete' loading

I want to be able to load a .swf file into an invisible div after the main body content has loaded. How can I test to find when the download is complete ( so I can make the div visible ) ?

You must set a preloader sequence inside the Flash, when you construct the swf. This is a Flash matter, not a HTML nor a Javascript one...

Hmm I think this is a javascript one since from reading the question the OP wants to know how to load a swf file AFTER the page has loaded. In javascript you can use

window.onload = function()
{
document.getElementById('flashdiv').style.display = 'block';
}

and have a div with id="flashdiv"

<div id="flashdiv">
<!--flash code goes here-->
</div>

You might also want to look into swfobject: http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/
