one of the things I really want in my site is a messageboard,it also has a chat room..I am wondering will this take up alot of room??
I hope this makes sense if not please let me know and I shall try and explain....
thank you wildvit
Well if you want a messageboard you'll need some kind of server-side scripting language like PHP, ASP, Perl, etc. I use http://www.phpbb.com/ (which needs PHP and a database). But if you don't have what's required, you could try http://www.proboards.com/ for free, remotely hosted boards. They have popups though.
And I use http://www.quickchat.org/ for a chat rooms which is again remotely hosted.
thank you goodman
I actually already found one and have been playing in there and want to link it to my whole site when it is completed
I looked at those links and have bookmarked them as they look awesome as well....
I will be buying some space for my site had just wondered if the messageboard was going to be eating up alot of the space but now some people tell me that NO it wont be taking up that much,,,
now while Im here I thought you might be able to help me with another question..
I GOT GIVE THIS SNIPPET of HTML coding, I was to copy and paste it onto a page and BINGO that should have been it...but I couldbe get anywhere ..what Im wanting to know is ..exactly what do I do if you know..copy and paste it onto the page I want and then what..PRESS ENTER??? or what,,
first I tried that on the actual page I was working on and I couldnt even get the PASTE to work...and then WHEN i did thru this other method it did NOTHING....please id love to know where Im going wrong........all the help page told me was to do all that and them BINGO!!..some icon would appear and a link would be created so I can use that to link it to the to the page
hope thi is clear enough
I probably can't help much unless you give us a link to the page where you got the code from, or paste the code itself here. We'd have to see it in context to know how implement it in your page.
