I have problem in DomElement->set_attribute() for french characters.

Actually i have sent set_attribute value "/home/viji/Endroit de protection de caractères spéciaux" as argument. And im recieiving Xml as below :

<Location><Path Name="/home/viji/Endroit de protection de caract&#x8CA5;s sp&#x98E9;aux" /></Location>

I have tried using utf8_encode() and utf8_decode() of the attribute value before set_attribute. But this doesn't help.

Any trick to handle this (or) is there any php function to handle this?
