    resolved [RESOLVED] 301 Redirect Error?

I had a file on my website called mydomain.com/porfolio.php

Google indexed the file and I have since been getting traffic. However, I no longer use that file and I am still getting people coming to it from Google. I know this because my site statistics show a failed request to this file.

In my research I discovered that I could use a 301 Redirect file.
However, I don't know how to setup one. Can someone please tell me?
    Help please.

I want that when someone clicks to go to portfolio.php, it will take them to the index.php or something.
