Search the page type script

Is there a way to write a script so that as the user types in characters, the page can be searched for any matching characters. Such as in your internet browser and Hitting CTRL+F, then you can enter characters and it will bring you to where they are on the page.

after all using javascript you can treat the content of the page as one large string, find it, assign it a <a></a> tag with a name to anchor to and redirect to the anchor.

but this is still better of in the javascript forum just to keep things organized.

I was thinking that it would probably have been better in JavaScript, but I wanted to check it out here first. Thanks for your help.
