Source code question

When purchasing forum software what is the importance of getting a package that includes the source code?

Does this mean I can duplicate the ready made forum and make another one?

When you buy it with the source code, you have the ability to make changes, customize it to your own imagination. For example if you want to advertise you paste the Google code where you want or modify things the way you want.With all this benefits it's better to have the code license.

Forum software is not a compiled program, like a browser or other application. No matter what forum software you get, you'll have access to the source code and be able to alter it.
