I do have to wonder how the hell the top three graphics cards get cooled though, because the fans are completely obscured by the card below them.

And what's the point of 41 Gigapixels per second? Even with 4 of those monitors hooked up, that's still just over 2,500 frames per second each. I think that they could have replaced some of the pixel pipelines with something more useful.

Edit: Also, the Intel dual core design is inefficient as the cores have to communicate via the system bus, which runs at a significantly slower frequency than the CPU cores. The AMD dual core design allows the cores to communicate on the chip and it's therefore much, much faster and more efficient. There are other improvements also (such as the integrated memory controller), but I can't be bothered to list them all, I'm tired.

    850W.

650W internal PSU and two external transformers for the graphics cards that provide up to 150W each. So a maximum of 950W. Then take into account the inefficiencies in the PSU's, approximately 80% efficiency at the full 950W means that it'll draw just short of 1200 W.

But if you're gonna drop $7-8000 on a PC, I guess you can afford to pay the electric bill without a problem.

It's good to see that you're being impartial about this and giving Dell a fair review.

Hey what do you guys have to say about the new amd athlon cpus that hp is using that using 64 bit with the new windows coming out using 64 bit. would you say hp's pc with a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ dual-core - 2.0GHz, 1MB would be better than the p4 3.4 ghz that dell is using?
