Is there any open source code to duplciate directories?

Can someone tell me if there is any open soruce code to duplicate directories?

I have some self contyained code that can be reused by duplicating its directory.

I want to have an admin system built, so that I can control the duplication and access to the directories and create user names and assign them specific directories.

I was told by someone that what I've described above already exists - no need to code from scratch.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

There are some users' notes on the copy() page with regard to copying directories.

    thanks for the reply.
    i read through the notes.

one link is given sounds like what i'm looking for: http://sourceforge.net/projects/filemanage/

this one looks as though its command based.
    havent tested though.

i've done a search on sourceforge for: php file manage.
this seems to have given some more results.

    thanks for the help!
