Best way to insert a Quote/Description in a hyperlink

Hi, I ran into a way of inserting a quote box to a hyperlink, similar to an alt tag but this one didn't fade untill the mouse was removed. I think it was a comman or quote response, but I cant remember how it was coded or what its called to look up the code. Can anyone make suggestions?

What I want to do is insert a quote to a link providing more details.

I prefer it to be java but willing try something new.

    Thanks!!

I suspect you're misusing the alt attribute where you should be using title.

    See: TOOLTIP

Provides a tooltip for as long as you hold mouse over the link, text or whatever you set up to use this. Highly customizable.

A normal title attribute in a hyperlink will time out and is not as customizable, but it is a lot easier to implement.
