Vaildate If Email is Active

Hey now,

Is there anyway to validate if an email address is still active for a user? I send a monthly newsletter but always receive 1600+ "Invalid Mail Delivery" emails because their email address is no longer working.

If there were a script to run that could determine which email addresses are valid, then that would help a ton.

If you use a mailhouse most of them offer system which log all the bounces etc...

this does cost though but not a huge amount.

I am using a custom newsletter script that I created.

So I do not have that ability. Any other ideas?
