Thanks for your suggestion. $299 is just extremely expensive. I have used CamStudio and it does the job for me but I wanted to kick it up a notch with a tool that's a bit more advanced.

Firefox has a great plugin called Fireshot. You can add annotations and all kinds of satuff.

I really like that Fireshot plugin. I was actually using "Save Page As Image" plug in but Fireshot has it all.

Also, I recently posted this thread as an FYI, http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=171959.

I use camtasia as well.. but before I got it I was using FRAPS
it has a free smaller version http://www.fraps.com/

& I remember back in the day, microsoft offered a free one (if you can believe that hehe) I dont remember its name, but I am sure if you search their site, you'd come across it.

Snagit was and probably still is offering one of their older versions free. Email and ask if you don't see it on their web site.

This is the address for Snagit -

I use it and have found it quite agreeable for what I need.

I use and enjoy "Screenhunter". It's free, powerful. And it's FREE.

Windows Media Encoder does a pretty good job for the price...FREE! Download from Microsoft. This encoder is also able to do encoding for Live Web Streaming. So it's a bargin at twice the price.
