    hi...when we load an xml file from the web server using the xmldom, does the browser cache for that?

    If you load a static file, that being a file named foo.xml, yes, it does cache it. If you load a file using a GET query string, like foo.php?id=23542, then I believe most browsers won't unless you set a cache header in the returned file. Internet Explorer I believe caches all GET requests in AJAX regardless of any cache header found in the file. POST requests in AJAX are never cached by any browser.
