dynamic Fonts & utf-8 encoding
hello, before posting this Thread i thought about to choose "Right Place" where to post it.. and Choose CSS, i am sorry if i came to wrong place.
No Whats the Question.
i am newbie in web development and trying to learn some moder basic tricks one must know to call himself web Master..
the thing i wonder is how to use Dynamic Fonts ?
Mean: forexalmple.. most pages i do are in english or Georgian Language (georgian Language is using utf-8 encoding) and there are many nice standart fonts one must have installed on his machine.. but as i see everybody uses Default font "Sylfaen".. and now i am building site using one from gerogian unicode font faces. i have seen many pages to be built that way.. and even if the machin owner viewing this pages.. and not having support for that font faces... this fonts are seen anyway.. and its the trick of dynamic font as i know?
can someone tell me lil about them or give me right adress URL where i could read how to use them?
thank u in advance!!
Use font-family to set the font you require.
Always give a choice, if the first is not available then the next one is used and so on until if none are found the last, generic type, is used.
font-family: 'Lucida Grande', Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif;
yes i know what you said, it works and i have tried it.
but forexample i use 1 font named "some unknown font.ttf" and want user who even does not have this font installed on his/her machine to be able to view text using this font and not any other one.
its about dynamic fonts.. and i wonder how does they work or how to set them up?
Only IE supports this: WEFT
Don't forget user options can override any font you set.
