IE6 Link Targeting iframe

I have a link on my website that is targeting an iframe and it works in every other browser but in IE6 the links does nothing, does this function not work in IE6 or are my doing something wrong? The link is to a website not on my server could that be an issue?

Possibly the way the iframe is referenced.
Can you give the link and iframe html?

That will work, but id and name in iframe should be the same.
