index.html loads but main site doesn't

I've got a quirk that I hope is something very simple that I'm missing. When you go to
http://www.bawra.org
you get a blank screen but when you go to
http://www.bawra.org/index.html
the site loads fine. Any clues?

Looks like the index page was saved with 3 letter .htm extension not .html
