i'm having a problem with my linux box. it won't let me modify the apache2.conf file even as root and i have no idea why. I've never had problems modifing it before. Any help will be appreciated.
tried restarting, no change
heres the directory listing
I'm unsure as to why theres a second apache.conf file, but its editable, unlike the main one, yet it has the exact same permissions.Code:drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 2009-01-24 22:56 . drwxr-xr-x 93 root root 4096 2009-01-24 23:04 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10716 2009-01-21 13:21 apache2.conf -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10716 2009-01-24 22:56 apache2.conf~ drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-01-06 20:32 conf.d -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 378 2008-06-26 01:49 envvars -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 49 2009-01-06 20:34 httpd.conf drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-01-18 18:19 mods-available drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-01-24 19:15 mods-enabled -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 59 2008-06-26 01:49 ports.conf drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-01-24 22:33 sites-available drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2009-01-24 22:30 sites-enabled
