    IE7 rpts JScript compilation error SYNTAX

    I'm running IE7 on Windows XP, Java 6 Standard Ed Update 11 (build 1.6.0_11-b03). I "think" this was updated back in DEC, not entirely sure when but I'm sure I've been to my website since that update at any rate...
    I have two applets on my homepage, a counter and a timer... my page has not had any problem until just a few days ago- now when I load the homepage I get two JScript compilation errors (here's a screenshot of what it looks like http://www.plowthesky.com/screen2.jpg). If I click thru them, the page opens normally. Refresh the page and no problem, but shut Explorer down and reopen to the page, there are the errors again. If I comment out the applets, the errors are gone. No change to my site since these errors started to appear. Maybe there was a Windows update, I don't know. I'm at a loss as to how to "fix" this, since I didn't change anything to cause it! Any ideas?

    i think your codebase attribute should be

    http://plowthesky.com/applets/countd...ountdown.class

    sorry no i lied.

    your tag is

    HTML Code:
    <applet code='countdown' codebase='http://plowthesky.com/applets/countdowns'
         width='203' height='21' >
        <param name='font' value='lcdb0' />

        <param name='hour' value='14' />
        <param name='day' value='09' />
        <param name='month' value='01' />
        <param name='year' value='2009' />
    </applet>
    should probably be

    HTML Code:
    <applet code='countdown.class' codebase='http://plowthesky.com/applets/countdowns'
         width='203' height='21' >
        <param name='font' value='lcdb0' />

        <param name='hour' value='14' />
        <param name='day' value='09' />
        <param name='month' value='01' />
        <param name='year' value='2009' />
    </applet>
    Just as a comment, this seems a bit like overkill to simply put when your site was updated last. Also you're mentioning something called "JAVAscript" but no "java"

    Tried it, didn't have any affect. Still the 2 error messages. Also, since it'd been working for -since i put the site up- w/o the code callout having the .class extension, i guess that is not required? anyway, this is something that just cropped up. as to the rest, yea, you're right, thanks for the comment...
