unwanted Mysterious space

well, ive decided to have a shot at web development and ive done a decent amount but now ive stumpled upon a big booboo that i cant seem to fix...
what ive got is a space about 10px high which is above what i should have in the #navi div but i didnt set it there, when i add position: absolute; into the #navi css style the space goes but it just brings on my problems then it fixes so if anyone is interested in having a go ive uploaded my stuff below and i hope you can help me
